Idk what's up with the reviews but I love this place!!! I've had some bad dry chicken but this knows their meats!
The good:
-Chicken Biriyani (SO GOOD W FLAVOR)
- Mango Chicken
-Tandoori Chicken (my personal favorite. chicken is cooked perfectly with the right amount of tenderness and juiciness)
-sauces here are so good!!!! Complementary
- Mango lassi
I still have yet to find something I don't like.....can't wait to come back! -

I have no idea why this place has such great reviews. There are quite a few great Indian places in Seattle. This is not one of them.
After a weekend away at my family's, I was craving Indian food but didn't feel like making it myself. Since I was in the lower Queen Anne area, I figured why not try a new Indian place. I wish I had gone with one of my tried and true favorites. Instead, I ordered takeout from Roti: garlic naan, butter chicken, and prawn tikka masala.
First off, the prices are about equivalent if not a little higher than other places in the city. This would be fine if the quality matched. Moreover, imagine my surprise when I come to pick up and find out rice is an extra charge. What Indian places charges for rice?? For an order that cost around $40, I expect the rice to come with.
When I got home and opened up the containers, there was a pool of oil on top of each. In all the time I've ordered from other Indian places here in Seattle, this was the first time I had that happen to me and apparently, I'm on the only one who has had this happen to them from takeout. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bothered at all. In addition, the two dishes themselves didn't taste as one would expect from butter chicken or tikka masala. The two stars are for the garlic naan and the spice level. The naan was great and the spice level would have been perfect had the food been good.
Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere else. -

Urghh...! This place would have closed long back had it not been at a prime location like Queen Anne. Please do yourself a favor by avoiding this place.
Had an absolutely terrible experience this time visiting Roti with my parents. I am shocked that the standards of this restaurant have declined so steeply in a matter of months. Never coming back here again. Here is what the experience was like:
1. Rude and terrible service: The server came for our order and we asked for another 2 Mins to decide our order. The server immediately starts reminding us that restaurant will close at 9:45pm. It was 8:20pm and I asked what was the rush about. He said he won't be able to accommodate us as he has other orders to take care of. The time to place the last order was 9:10pm and it was 8:20 PM, seriously.!! Are the customers responsible for your slow service problems? I don't know of another restaurant that gives those kind of warnings to customers 1.5 hours before close time.
2. Food: another addition to the worst kind of Indian food memories I have had. The salted Lassi had no flavor, no salt and felt like someone gave us diluted yogurt in the glass. We added water and salt ourselves to be able to drink it. The chicken tikka masala was so bad, big pieces of chicken really undercooked. The daal was bearable but nothing to remember.
3. Ambience: The furniture is screaming to get replaced and feels like it's atleast 20 years old. We were seated on a table where the glass was chipped from one corner. -

Ugh. This place used to be friendly and delicious. Went there last night and experienced terrible service and super salty tandoori cod. We chatted with the other patrons and learned they are under new 'management.' Well boy, does it show. Our 'waiter' (sorta? Was he the host?) could have cared less and begrudgingly took our order and then didn't understand that we wanted to split the check. Upon requesting that he fix it, he asked that we figure it out amongst ourselves because it would take him too much time to correct. Really? This place really felt like everyone was improvising. Which doesn't bode well. One extra star given for tasty mango curry but it's time to find an alternative. Buh bye now.
